Paypal started out as a way to pay for something without the purchaser's banking or payment info divulged to people or companies you do not know (like on ebay). When smaller businesses and web sites offer it (sites that are IMO more likely to be hacked than some), I prefer yo use Paypal rather than give info directly to the site, where you don't know or trust the "other end."
Bill Me Later is Paypal Credit. If you have just Paypal your payment is taken out whole, immediately, just as if you used a debit card. If you have BML/PPC, it functions as a credit account and you receive a monthly bill. It's great for purchasing an item where you'd rather do an easy pay type of payment, on websites that don't offer that - i.e., if you want $150 pair of shoes from one of the many shoe sites but it's payment in full or your CC, if you use BML you can split your payment up a bit.

I've used PayPal since the beginning of their services. They have my credit card on file and and I use that for every online store that permits. I use my credit card when I'm shopping anywhere in person, including grocery store. I pay off every month. I have tons of travel points and receive a check each year from my credit card company when I call them. I get a good size check each year! I never use a debit card anywhere. I write checks for personal bill paying when bills come in. I never take checks in my purse, but will take a check with me when out of town for a few weeks just in case I might need.
Credit cards are much safer than debit cards. Credit card companies can reimburse or settle disputes easily and keep a watch for any unusual purchases. I always call my credit card company to alert them when I go out of state knowing I will be spending more than usual for hotels, dinners and so forth.
But, PayPal is my favorite and safe transaction method. Glad that some shopping channels are or will start providing PayPal .

I have used Paypal before when purchasing from HSN. However, I do have an HSN charge card and prefer to use it because if you make a return, they give you spendable cash when you use their return label. You don't get this feature if you pay using Paypal or another credit card.
You can use Paypal and flex-pay on HSN.

The only caveat with Paypal is that some "stores" have a different Return Policy when using PP vs. using a credit card in that they will only issue an in-store credit if you use PP as opposed to a full refund with your credit card. So check the store's return policy before using PP.

This is a good point. I have ordered a few things on-line using Paypal and checked the return policy. With some of them, even if they have a physical store, you have to send back any returns. I could not return to the store.

Wow. Thanks. I have never ran into this problem. If I make a purchase I want credit back to the original payment method not a store credit. They may not have anything else I want to buy.

the way to get around this is to get a paypal debit card with the visa symbol......the card is linked directly to your paypal account.
