i've seen this picture before and i think though shocking, it shows dave very relaxed and happy with himself. he's going through a period of being a non-conformist and really enlyoying it. good for him. i am sure he'll come back around because he has a son and he wouldn't want to create a poor image permanentlyl. this is just a fun thing i am sure.

It was claimed he had numerous affairs with his female staffers. Bless his poor wife who apparently stood by him anyway when you know what hit the fan.

He looks pretty much how I would think he would look after retiring...but then again I am not a fan.

It wasn't just "claimed." He went on air and admitted it after someone tried to blackmail him. I heard him admit to all those affairs myself. He wasn't technically married at the time - but was living with his very longtime girlfriend Regina whom he later married. He also spoke on air for a while after he admitted to the affairs with his staff members that things were "very cold" at home with Regina. I think it took them a long time to work through it but they did stay together.

Dave's new look was discussed on The Talk today. Dave was quoted as saying that he had shaved every day for 33 years, and he always knew that when he retired he didn't want to do it anymore. (And yes, the pic is definitely him.)

Would have never guessed that was him. Hate the beard, but that is his choice. I liked him on Late Night. Loved the Top Ten Lists.

Agree with everything you said except the beard. That beard needs some grooming.

I was also shocked by his current appearance. I wonder how his son, Harry, likes it. He does look a bit like Santa.

I miss Dave, too. I find I watch more of Jimmy Kimmel, just because his monologues are funny and long. I like Colbert a bit, but his skits can be lame. I like Jimmy Fallon as a person, seems like a very nice man, but his show is aimed at college age kids. I get tired of all the games with celebrities. I bet some celebs don't go on his show because they don't want to play the goofy games. Jimmy Fallon is not a good interviewer and his side kick guy gets on my nerves.

Dave had fun shows and he was a good interviewer. His interviews were smart and interesting.

I find myself watching the old Johnny Carson reruns on Antenna TV some nights!

Dave Letterman, the Talk Show Host, needed to dress and look like a sophisticated New Yorker. That was the costume, and the job paid well.

However, I suspected he was a HIPPIE at heart when I saw a photo of Dave and Regina out together .... she has zero makeup on and her hair was unkempt and unstyled. She looked like a plain ol hippie. I felt if that was the woman he chose to be with, that must have been who he is, as well.

Of course, there's the added bonus of this new look making him less recognizeable to "fans" that would pester him. In a way, it's a disguise. Hey, it would have fooled me if I passed him on the street. Only his voice would have given him away.
