May the sweet baby also rest in peace...how sad the attorneys didn't even mention the unborn baby in their statement.

This is a lose-lose situation; no reason to be thankful or happy when two lives are lost. My prayers are with the mother of Marlise; she has lost her daughter and her grandchild today.

The poor lady was dead in November. May she and her baby rest in peace and her family be able to put this nightmare behnd them.

They probably won't be able though. What a useless intervention by ideologues. So much extra suffering in what already was a terrible situation.

ITA.

I hope this entire misguided law is re-visited.

I am sure many people didn't even know it existed until now.

May they rest in peace.

What do you think this implies?

Why did you not mention her husband? He lost the love of his life and his child.

I am glad the family can finally have a resolution. I shudder to think what would have happened had the judge ruled in favor of the hospital. The fetus was severely damaged probably due to the lack of oxygen and gestating in a dead body. I hope this sets a precedence in Texas and across the country.

She's been gone since November. Now at last her fetus has been allowed to go with her.

I hope he sues for pain and suffering and gets at least enough to cover all medical and legal bills. If not, if I were him, I would not pay one cent to the crooks who set out to rob me.

They didn't remove her until today because the hospital was mulling APPEALING the ruling!!!

How sick...to put them through another day of torture.

Whoever runs that hospital needs to be fired...immediately.

from what I read, the administrators of the hospital are really the ideologues here. They are well known for their extremist positions and did take it upon themselves to interpret this law in this manner.

heads should roll, but I doubt that will happen.

Want to stop "useless intervention by ideologues"? Prepare your Advance Directives now while you're still feeling great. That way, you have your voice in your care even if you can't speak for yourself. Your health care agent will do that for you.

In states with laws like this, an Advance Directive of any kind is overridden by the law.
