I am loving this quote.  Hey, living in Connecticut, I really get this.  Hartford was named "the most dangerous city in New England."  Every day there are shootings in Connecticut, between Hartford, Bridgeport, and New Haven.  It is horrific.  One recent am news- one person shot in chest, another in the head in New Haven.  Another town, father and mother in argument - he killed mother, leaving infant son.  Just another day in Connecticut.  we live in an outlying affluent town of Hartford, so little violence here.  like living in another world, but I feel for those poor souls living in those areas.  No one is spared.  a while back, a minister was shot outside his church in Hartford.  No reason.  Luckily, he survived.

If anyone ridicules your quote, you can bet they aren't living where I live.  Or in any other place where innocent people are gunned down EVERY day.  It is easy to turn a blind eye to incessant killing of innocent people (no, these are not all gang-related killings) when it is not where you live.  I hate watching the local news.  But then aren't we all Americans and shouldn't be all concerned about what goes on everywhere?  It would be like me watching the horror of all the floods in the south, saying "Not my problem."  Well, I feel for everyone.  I don't feel that way.  Not my upbringing and my faith.

Leave it to you to find one that I agree with and struggle with at the same time LOL!

@Mominohio

heard that when I was in my mid teens, and my mom hated it. she kept telling me, save, save, save, and i would say that quote. that is how i have pretty much lived my life. life is about the present, not about the tomorrows, which may never come, and i believed that same way when i was a teen.  I factored not having children partly for that reason.

Hey!  I got'cha thinking!
