@SydneyH wrote:It takes time to remove content, how is it FaceBook's fault she followed through with her suicide plan?
I know that over 200 people complained to FB to remove it, but that may be a small amount of people considering there are probably thousands of complaints coming in at any given time.
I just think it's bizarre she would do this (and I'm not even sure how far she went with her video).
I guess maybe she did lots of videos on FB (and/or selfies)?
I can understand the family upset with FB, but they have to be upset that their mother did the video for all to see.

@CelticCrafter - Just wondering why it bothers you that someone else (the youngest daughter) enjoys the memories on FB? If you are not a FB member, then you do not see them. If you are a FB member, then you can unfollow the person whose memories you don't want to see. Many people like to honor their deceased loved ones on FB on anniversaries and birthdays and share these memories with their friends.

I'm not sure why anyone thinks it's FB responsibility to know that someone is in their right mind while they are posting things.
FB can also put out a policy about what happens to your account after death however, the key is, if you choose to have your account deactivated, someone has to contact them to have that done and how long will it take before FB actually does it. Clearly from this article they aren't on top of things.
I do think FB should have taken the posting down. However, I don't see this leaving them open to a lawsuit because the woman wasn't in her right mind. In fact, I think that's ridiculous.

My facebook rant for today,
I defriended myself years ago. Best thing I ever did. Why is some people are fascinated and consumed by knowing what their friends and family are doing every minute? And, what they eat, lol! Give me a break. I think some people could take a rest, walk outside, call a friend, email them, make a coffee date. Some people post everything. Tmi.
What bothers me most is the family photos people put up. Why would parents keep posting pics of their children, with birthdates, schools, accomplishments, sports meets, etc. i told my kids they aren't allowed to post any photo with me in it, not even a memorial photo. Lol. Personally, with phones so advanced, with skype and other communication devices, families that live far from each other can still exchange updates, photos. Are we so lazy as a human race, that we just want a one and done.? Make one post on facebook for everyone?
I don't want to know what my grown kids, and grands are doing on facebook. I call them, text them. They send me photos. We are very, very, close as well.
Remember, nothing is private anymore. But, to each their own.
