It was 103 here today. Our dinner was a huge salad with lots of romaine and veggies and sliced roast beef on top.

Ouch it was mid 60's and rain most of the day in Westchester, NY

It rained hard here on Long Island, NY, all day. It was a good day to relax, read, and reflect. Then around five o'clock, the sun came out brilliantly. I'm sure there were rainbows galore!

Hennala I hope your heat wave abates soon. It must be terrible for it to be so hot. Thankfully you didn't lose your power like others in your area.

We ate our pre-fast meal at a Chinese buffet last night. We've never done that before, but it was the easiest way to fill ourselves up. We broke fast with dairy, as usual.

I'm really glad the holidays are over and the book is closed. I wish everyone a good, healthy and happy year!

Thank you to all of you for being here this week. Although we've moved, I know that everyone who wants to find us will do so with no difficulty.

Everyone I know either started with Chinese food or ended their fast that way. Too hot to even think of food here. I had to eat so I did.

On the coast here we don't have air conditioning, so it was pretty brutal. They say it might cool a bit tomorrow.

I would be afraid of the salt to start my fast with Chinese food we ended ours with Chinese food and were not the only ones, the restaurant is across the street from our local JCC.

I hope everyone who fasted had a easy fast. Our meals both pre and post fast are very traditional. This morning however it was stuffed french toast made with left over challah, farm fresh bacon and a fried egg.
