@eaesquire,  mea culpa, you are correct.  I failed to count 2001 as the first year so this is in fact the 21st year  of the century.

What is good for the goose today will also be good for the gander tomorrow.

If 2001 was the first year of the 21st century, what century was the year 2000 in?

A baby at birth is in his/her first year, I think.

That is cool.  However, so far I am not impressed with the new year.  Maybe I hoped for so much in saying goodbye finally to 2020.
