The victim didn't die.  We don't impose the death penalty for that.

@Noel7 ..... maybe so but they stabbed her multiple times & their intention was to kill her .... they are two crazy, worthless people who can never be normal & should never be allowed to live in society ... I still say goodbuy & good riddance ... they don’t deserve to live ..... this is MY OPINION & you don’t have to like it or agree with me.

@January121

History has heard that opinion before.

Civilized societies don't kill off their mentally ill, but it was done in WW2 in Germany.

@Noel7  Also the physically impaired.   Other persons of "certain persuasions" were also subject to extermination.

I'm getting a tad concerned about some of the "opinions" here.

You’re right @Cakers3

The death sentence included the disabled, developmentally challenged, those you mentioned and little people.

So if this is true, and I don't know if it is, I have heard it so its not a matter of education.  BUT I wonder, then how is it that we are all praising the actions of the children who protested against guns just this week that gave the "gun" issue more strength somehow.  Many where just amazed, not relaizing that kids are sponges and pretty much mimic the society around them and the belief of their parents.  And why would we put guns in the hands of Eighteen year olds and send them to the battle field?  And why is it that the boomers especially started a culture that gave/gives more validity and respect to the young (25 and below) then respecting the opinions of the "elders" in our community, or those 25 and older?

I guess this is all off topic but this notion, that the human brain is under developed until the age of 25 should tell us not to listen or worship a "youth culture".  Just stuff I think about, lol.

@Northray

Kids that age are not sponges.  The point of education is to teach people how to think for themselves.  The young people I heard speak were articulate and spoke above the level of some politicians.

Why put guns in their hands and send them into battle?  Because old men send young men into battle to die for them.

I disagree that boomers listen more to young people, but thank God they take the time to listen to young people fighting for their lives.

Well if the brain is still developing, that means that it is still learning/absorbing, ie like a sponge.  And I agree that education is to help people to think for themselves but supposedly at the age of 25 and under they haven;t learned too because their brains are still under developed.  HOw can we trust an under developed brain?

No, it doesn’t mean that.  In fact, that’s not the way the brain works nor is it the way learning works.

We are surrounded by adults with less intelligence than those young people.  The way people speak is usually an indicator of education and intelligence.

I don't understand your response.  Are you disputing that a brain is not under developed at a young age then?

The second part of your response is an opinion only, which is okay.  The last sentence I don't agree with at all, they way people speak is usually just an indicator of those they admire and or the society in which they run in.  Has zippo to do with education and intelligence.

Re: Sentencing for the slender man case

As an example of the irrational thinking of teenagers, one of those students is boycotting school, won't go until they get their way and the gun is banned. Others may be impressed but I'm not one of them. People, young and old, are advised to refrain from making decisions emotionally.
