This sure looks like a hate thread with people not even wanting to read up on the case and who just want to say "kill 'em!"

Morgan Geyser, the one who did the actual stabbing, was diagnosed with "rare early-onset schizophrenia" and seems to be getting worse. Her parents didn't tell her growing up that her father is schizophrenic, I don't believe. And they never noticed anything out of the ordinary with her personality.

Anissa Weier likely had a "shared delusional disorder" with Morgan.

And to the person who said they were "mean girls" before this happened, where's the proof?!

The proof is they lured the victim into the woods and stabbed her 19 times. SMH

The request was for proof they were "mean girls" BEFORE the stabbing not at the time of the stabbing.  Is there proof or even some evidence they were "mean girls" before the stabbing?

Yes, and ‘mean girls’ carries a connotation of girls who routinely bully other girls.

Reading some of these posts, it's no surprise the mentally ill are ignored until they harm someone. Then their illness is dismissed as a cause and it's all about vengeance.

I know people will disagree with me but, I believe the two girls should get the death penalty...... we know they did it & keeping them in jail for 25 - 40 years is not going to change them one bit ..... goodbuy & good riddance as soon as possible!!

The victim didn't die.  We don't impose the death penalty for that.

@Noel7 ..... maybe so but they stabbed her multiple times & their intention was to kill her .... they are two crazy, worthless people who can never be normal & should never be allowed to live in society ... I still say goodbuy & good riddance ... they don’t deserve to live ..... this is MY OPINION & you don’t have to like it or agree with me.

Educated yourselves, This is a treatable condition. The human brain isn't even fully developed until age 25

These are sick people who need help. They don't want to act like they do, it's the way their body works, they can't help it

They have an excuse for the way they are. Others do not ,they choose to be cruel, and it seems to me they really don't like children, and are very transparent about it

Maybe we should be studying why the "don't like it kill it" attitude is so pervasive today, even in some adults.

Re: Sentencing for the slender man case

@NicksmomESQ. I think it is just the way some kids/adults are.  Some people are simply psychopaths or sociopaths, and I wish I understood how or why they came to be, but I now accept that they simply "are".  Some kids lack empathy for others, and some even want to hurt others emotionally and/or physically.

I had neighbors, once, who thankfully moved away with when they divorced. They had a single child who had beautiful blonde hair and blue eyes.  She was a psychopathic liar and a psycopath as well.  I met her when she was four years old.  She rang my doorbell at 8:30 PM when it was dark outside and there was no adult to accompany her.  She left a neighbors home and just walked out on her own to come to my hone and ask me if I had any children she could play with.  I asked her where she lived as I wanted to help her get home.  She told me the number of her home on my street, and I had not yet met her parents.  She did not want to go home, so I followed her to my next-door neighbors home, where she had been previously, playing with their children.  There was nothing else I could do.  She was safe with my other neighbors, and she would not follow my direction to walk to her house with me.

When she was a couple of years older, she did play with my kids on a couple of occasions.  I saw that she liked to physically hurt other children, and then I knew that I had to keep my kids away from her.   One day, she played with a toy sword and waved it back and forth and then brought the sword closer and closer with each swipe of her arm to another child, and I could see the growing excitement in her eyes and expression as she did this.  All the other kids in that basement had disinterested nannies looking at their cellphones, but I saw what was happening, and I stopped her from making contact with a boy's head.  She was so focused on her activity that she didn't notice me watching her closely. I witnessed several other examples of this kind of deviant behavior of hers just visiting my other neighbors when she just happened to be present. For example, I saw her shove a child off a chair from behind, and advise the child that he must have fallen, denying that she did anything at all. That child lied to me and insisted to me that she went to my kids' school when I knew she didn't.  She even pointed to pictures of blond haired girls in my kids' yearbook insisting it was her in the pictures, when clearly it was not (i.e she has blue eyes, and the child in the photo obviously had brown eyes.)  When I found out what school she attended from a neighbor, and asked her, directly, how she liked her Montessori school, she yelled at me, becoming very angry at me.  She demanded to know, "Who told you that?" She would not admit, even then, that she went to that other school.  I once had to keep my kids from going to a birthday party of a neighbor that involved swimming at a facility as I thought this girl might try to drown my children, who were new swimmers, just for fun.

Evil kids exist.  They simply do.  The only way we can protect our children from them is to observe all of their friends very closely and see if we can find these hints of sociopathy.  I think my former neighbor's child will very possibly become a murderer.  She certainly enjoys physically hurting other kids.
