Seen This Morning on my Walk

I passed the house that had written in chalk on their sidewalk a few days ago, "Time to open the Good Wine".  Today there was a new chalk drawing on their sidewalk:

(first square)

Pretty pic of flowers

WE FALL

WE BREAK

WE FAIL

(next square)

BUT THEN

(next square)

WE RISE

WE HEAL

WE OVERCOME

Pretty pic of flowers

I only saw 3 other people out walking when I was out, all at least a soccer field distance away from me, all single walkers.  We are all practicing social distancing as we are being told to do daily by our Governor who addresses us all every day.  We have a very conservative policy here, everything closed but essential services. We are told to not congregate in any kind of groups, adults and kids alike. Our governor makes these decisions based on the best up to date scientific evidence that there is.  Just saying, in case anyone thinks I am being reckless for leaving my house.  It is very possible here to walk through the neighborhood without coming anywhere close to the 6 foot social distancing recommendation.

@QueenDanceALot   I don't think you're being "reckless" at all.  I have to get out of my apartment every day even if it's only for 30 or 40 minutes.  I would go crazy or become an alcoholic if I didn't!!!  Everyone has to do what's best for their own mental/emotional health.

The streets are relatively empty so keeping a "safe" distance is no problem.

Yes, I need to get out for a walk every day for my mental health and for stress relief.

The evidence appears to show that it's much more perilous to go to the grocery than to walk around my neighborhood.

@QueenDanceALot,  we have been going on daily walks as the weather permits.   I have also been trying to get out and work in the yard.  We have a pretty good size yard on a corner lot so there is quite a bit I can do out there.  In fact, planning to get out there in just a few minutes.  Of course, as you know, it is cloudy today and cooler....but still plan on getting out there a while.

Hey Neighbor!  I was out in my yard quite a bit yesterday and it was lovely.  Today I am working on my "virtual training" workouts for some clients who want to try the remote thing.  I'm not exactly up to speed on this mode of doing things, but it's a new reality for us that I doubt will be going away anytime soon, so I have to roll with it!

Enjoy your time outdoors!!

We walk around the neighborhood every day too.  We see people and either we or they move away.

Yesterday we saw a Dad and his little girl about 3 years old walking.  She had yellow rain boots on. She said hi to us so sweetly I got tears in my eyes.  Very emotional times.

@QueenDanceALot, I have faith in you mastering the technology!  You will probably become an expert in that type of format delivery.  Hang in there, neighbor! Heart

I like your neighbors. Someone in that house must have a real need to still connect and express him or herself and be a source of encouragement, and they've found a lovely way to do it.

Re: Seen This Morning on my Walk

We just adopted a Lab/Great Pyrenese mix on Sunday, and are fortunate to be able to bring him to work with us. So...we've been taking walks at lunch. I work downtown in a small city, and it's just dead down here! I hadn't been out the front door of the office since all this started, so I was kind of shocked at the difference. We're taking advantage of less traffic and fewer people to do some serious dog-walking training. "Coach" is a big boy at 120 pounds, and he pulls on the leash! Anyway, the quiet is kind of eerie.

Sometimes it feels like I really do live in "Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood".

The house next to it has little paper hearts stuck in the front window, lots of them.  I can't see what is written on them, but it looks like some kids are being very crafty and busy in that house doing sweet things while they are home from school.

There are some that are just running wild around the neighborhood, congregating in groups, playing basketball, etc. but the Governor is working toward getting all of those behaviors gone.  I love our Governor.  I call him Mr. Rogers.  Cat Very Happy
