Yes, pray for the families and the children, but also pray for the driver. Whatever we end up finding out about how this happened, nobody in their wildest dreams would ever want to be responsible for such a terrible wreck! Yes, I'm all for accountability and consequences, but this is a good opportunity to exercise great compassion for everyone involved---including the driver. He has got to live with this fact for the rest of his life.

Not ready to give him the beneft of the doubt on THAT yet -we have mo idea how he feels about bring responsible for it -or what else we may learn
My focus will be on the victims and their familes first and until then

@JobGirl If you read my post carefully, I didn't say anything about giving him the benefit of the doubt. I simply said we should pray for everyone involved - including the driver. Such a tragedy is an opportunity to show our highest selves; our highest level of compassion.

The male driver was only age 24. More 'experience' for personnel using a CDL license should be required by a school system. Possible speeding and DUI are factors ... so sad.

I did read your post carefully you said no one would want to be responsible for such a thing-
You are assuming alot-
we don't know that- he may not care at all except for himself and that hes going to prison
Sorry I don't have compassion for someone who has no regard for the lives of others especially young children, if that in fact turns out to be the case

To clarify my earlier post, I certainly wasn't defending the driver involved. I haven't even read the story of the crash - my daughter told me about it and said the driver was speeding!
I have no sympathy for the driver here.

I have only seen a picture of the driver and his age. I hope to see his driving record and if there is any arrest record.
I will hold off on expressing any opinion until I see that, although it is extremely difficult for me to do so.

Well he has already been charged - the driver. Reports of speed being way too fast last I heard.
That said - my thoughts and prayers are with the whole community and families. I cannot fathom such a tragedy..It is horrible any time of the year..but days before Thanksgiving. Send our little ones - our most precious commodities of life off to school and never to be seen alive again...a parents worse nightmare.
