What a fiasco! Almost makes me feel sorry for Samsung. Really.

My sis bought the Galaxy Note and then it was recalled......and she now has the replacement and a bit apprehensive about using it because of fire reports for the replacements too..... I think Samsung rushed production just to beat Apple and their iphone in the release date and quality control went down the tubes.......
I told her she should just get an LG smart phone...LOL!!!

My feeling about this is, if it was so easy to turn a tablet into a phone others would have done it. The Note has similar functions to a tablet if I'm not mistaken. I almost bought one and I'm very happy that I didn't.

I purchased a Tracfone a couple of years ago, and it was a problem from day one! They wouldnt credit me with the 1200 minutes included in the price, so I had to buy minutes, then after a short while it started disconnecting me, both on incoming and outgoing calls. Then it started meking 'arcing' noises like wires were touching, so I called them, and they ran through some program or the other while I was on the phone. It worked for about a month, then the problems started again. Finally when I was losing every incoming call, I went back to ATT and purchased a new phone. Because I do everything else on my IPad, I thought the Tracfone was the answer, it was a complete waste of money. Callers were frustrated with me, so I don't know whether it was Samsung or Tracfone, but between the two of them, I would never buy either again. I e-mailed the host that was selling the phones and received nothing in response. 'Disappointed' is an understatement, as I've been a QVC shopper since the beginning.

We have older Samsung phones and we have had issues with them.
IMHO Samsung makes some great products, but our next phone purchase will likely be IPhones.

I have the Samsung 7 and when I charge it while on it gets really hot so I usually make sure to only charge it when it's off,,,no heating up at that time. Makes me a little nervous.

if you have the NOTE 7 then it is being recalled and you need to return it.
Samsung has just released a public statement telling customers to return all Galaxy Note 7s, even the replacement units distributed during what we will now have to call the "first" Galaxy Note 7 recall.
That's right—Samsung is issuing a second recall for the Note 7. Even if you've returned your phone and gotten a replacement, you need to return the device again.

@Goldengate8361 I understand how you could feel sorry for Samsung but they have no one but themselves to blame for this fiasco. I don't believe for a second that this problem didn't come up during their testing cycles but they did the math and thought the risk was lower than clearly it turned out to be. The fact that they raced a replacement into the marketplace that is also problematic is beyond embarassing and also opens even more doors to further lawsuits. Whomever is making the decisions on these releases should be canned.
I get that companies want to be first and keep pace with competitors and I also know there is always risk in any release of a new product but this is a big one and unfortunately the Samsung brand (which I personally like) is going to take a big hit on this.
