just a reminder......

for MARYLANDERS, tax free week begins on august 12th and runs through august 18th 2018. it always begins the second sunday of august.

Qualifying apparel and footwear $100 or less, per item, are exempt from the state sales tax. This year, the first $40 of a backpack or bookbag purchase is also tax-free. Accessory items, except for backpacks, are not included.

It dpends where you live and Florida tax weekend in forst weekend in Aug.   I have never had any only company's to supprt it, only local stores.  Maybe each state is different, not sure.  i get stuff for my Grandson, but since it is basically supplies , I have no problem finding tings local.

@BalletBabe,   Most states, if not all, do include online internet shopping -- I just now went to the article I posted and looked at Florida's link, and they include "Mail-Order, Catalog, or Internet Sales."    I used the opportunity many years ago to purchase an iMac and iPad from Apple.com.   That was a really nice savings, and I also used Discover Deals so there was a generous cash-back, too.😊

@dooBdoo   Thank You very much.   I didn't know that.   Good to know and appreciate you letting me know.  I have been thinking about a Mac.  I despise Microsoft anymore.   Do you like your Mac?

You're welcome, @BalletBabe!   I'm a fan of Apple products and service.    I started using them and teaching hospital staff on both Apple and Windows-based PCs in the mid-1980s, and I found so many benefits to Apple that I moved exclusively to their devices and software.   (The Apple vs. Windows PC debate is longstanding, often a very personal preference, and this just happens to be my choice from years of experience in a national medical center system.)    I recommend them, as do many other posters (usually in threads in the "Electronics" sub-forum).   As you probably would guess, in many ways it will look and act differently from the PC system you're accustomed to navigating, so I think it's important to remember the switch to such a new computing environment will take a wee bit of time and patience...  which, in my opinion, is extremely well worth it.   Whatever you choose, I hope you'll be pleased.😊

Got a question for people who live in PA.  Do you pay tax on clothing in a store?  Or online? I am near the border (almost) and can get there easily.
