I know that Christmas and New Years are have long been celebrated on certain dates. I was responding to the poster who wants to move ALL federal holidays to a Monday. Since Christmas and New Years are federal holidays and she only wants to keep July 4 the same, she would be fine with moving Christmas and New Years. 

This country has celebrated Thanksgiving on the 4th Thursday of November since 1941. No one is forced to eat 2 gigantic meals 3 to 4 weeks apart. Families have been working out travel plans for years and shopping can be done anytime with so many shopping online. There is no reason at all to move this holiday just to make it more convenient for some.

As far as I know all SS checks are direct deposit nowdays. Best way.

Wonder if the same  employee who entered the info  for your husband made the same error with other senior citizens ?  The person must not have  predded the save or enter key .

Should be worded as benefit; SSA stopped using checks many years ago.

There are some exceptions including those who were receiving checks prior to 2013. But the vast majority receive their benefits through electronic deposit.

Everyone needs a day off now and then. Around here postal workers work hard and sometimes long hours. I don’t believe the stereotype that all government workers are lazy, because it’s not true. 💕
