Re: ******SNOW-DAY PLANS******

I'm in upstate NY (about an hour south of Syracuse) and I went out on our deck about an hour ago with the tape measure...23 inches and counting!  My husband's been out to plow the driveway at least 3 times today and I was out a few times to shovel the front walkway.

There's a travel ban here...perfect day to get inside chores done, although I don't feel like doing them, as usual.

Think I'll spend most of the day daydreaming of being on a beach chair on the white sandy beaches of the Caribbean with a big pina colada in hand!

I can't tell how much we got because of the drifts, I just measured 40 inches drift out my back door and that's not the highest. Beautiful and quiet.

It's still snowing, the wind has died down a bit. NE PA

@Nomorebirthdays- my cousin, also in NE PA, just texted me some pictures. LOTS of snow!

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

Re: ******SNOW-DAY PLANS******

It's been fun reading about what you all are doing! I told everyone here I would be sleeping until noon, so that was expected!

We didn't get as much as expected, but everything here closed today.

When I did get up I made Croque Monsieurs, which is one of my family's favorites, and our standard "locked in" recipe. Tonight I will probably have chili or something like it.

I have tons of paperwork to do. I should be cleaning off my desk, cleaning the house, etc. But I think I'm just going to relax! Smiley Wink

Tonight I'm going to watch the finale of This is Us - in real time for once, since all night events/meetings are cancelled!

@lulu2

I hear ya... I've been looking forward to a pretty snowfall for a couple of years now... Last year, about all we got was that nasty blizzard and this year, nothing... I mean literally nothing... And this big fiasco netted us nothing more than slop, heavy winds, dreary skies and cold air, for at least the next few days... It's a little late for winter to make an appearance, as far as I'm concerned, though i would've welcomed a pretty, gentle snowfall even at this late date, otherwise, let's just call it done and move into spring...

Re: ******SNOW-DAY PLANS******

I woke up this morning and was excited because I saw what appeared to be a significant amount of snow on my kitchen window and sliding patio door. But once I opened the door, I saw that what little snow we had just drifted. The rest of the deck was totaly bare.  No snow at all.  I could still see grass peaking up through the snow.

Like @stevieb and @lulu2 I was looking forward to a nice snowfall.  It's freezing cold but that's about it.  Our weather forecasters had people whipped up into such a frenzy yesterday, they were buying stuff from the grocery store like we were going to be snowed in for a week.

I am SO over weather forecasters for this among several reasons... @Lipstickdiva... I want to make what they make and be so consistently forgiven for being so consistently inaccurate !!

Re: ******SNOW-DAY PLANS******

Lots of snow here in Central PA. At noon we had 16" and its still snowing very lightly. We are expecting high winds this evening. My plans were to rest like I have been doing for 2 weeks. I have a broken ankle and finger from a fall. I will not take one step outside til this is all gone! EM
