Re: ******SNOW-DAY PLANS******

I had requested at least a week ago, to take off today so I could go to the Flower Show. And since I planned on taking the train into Philadelphia I also scheduled an appointment to get my car inspected. Trying to make good usage of my day off - WELL - here I sit. I have been calling and it seems the place where I take my car is not open. My dog refuses to go out and "do" anything. Since he hasn't "gone" since 9PM last night. I do not want to leave for about 10 hours without him "going".

So here I sit. My plans are shattered. Will help the neighbors shovel when it stops snowing/sleeting and freezing rain. Oh well - certainly not what I expected to do - look at flowers and beautiful displays and hopefully buy plants and bulbs for the garden.

Re: ******SNOW-DAY PLANS******

All the schools here are closed based on what they were expecting.  What we got was basically nothing and what they were predicting we were supposed to get throughout the day today they have pretty much canceled.

We might have gotten about 2-3" of snow and we might get another inch or 2 throughout the day today.

What a bust for us.  Funny thing is the local forecasters won't give up.  They wouldn't change over to GMA or The Today show because they kept showing local weather and carrying on but then they pop up the snow totals and it's just silly. Time for them to move on and realize something shifted and they were way off.

@drizzellla  Sorry you can't make it to the flower show.  I live within walking distance of the flower show so I would think that today, when it won't be crowded there I could just walk there.  Not so - way too icy for me to get there.

It's a bummer all around.

So sorry to hear that. I was so excitied that is was going to snow. I have gone to the Flower Show before in snow storms and it is Wonderful. The place is not crowded and you have no trouble seeing everything.

Sorry it is too icy. But when it comes to ice - better be safe. Guess we will both "deal with the crowds" later.

today is the day the county golf courses open  #badtiming

They'll never be able to find the golf balls!

(I live next to a cc with 3 18-hole courses. This will sure put a damper to the spring season!)
