LOVE your comment!!!!
I am going to my local neighborhood stores tomorrow. It's just a walk of a few blocks and I can find all kinds of unique items - and they are usually wrapped FOR FREE too! The whole walk is about 3 miles - so it's good exercise too.
Some of the store in the Elmwood Village of Buffalo - Penzeys, a fleece and outerwear store, TWO olive oil stores - one featuring Italian oil and the other Lebanese and other ME oils and olives. Jewelry stores with locally made items...a quilting store...a cheese shop...our food co-op...a local chocolate store...second hand clothing stores...high end clothing and shoe shops...a store where used furniture and home decor items are "refreshed"...a place that makes lotions, bath bombs and soaps...and TWO art museums and one history museum - all with great gift shops...food trucks on almost every corner...
It will be fun and will support local business.
BTW - the shopping district is over 3 miles long...there is only ONE fast food chain place - Paneras...everything else is local.
