Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg Hospitalized

I'm a little surprised this hasn't been posted yet. She's tough. I'm sure she'll be there on Monday.

From today's ABC News:

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has been hospitalized after doctors discovered a blockage in her left coronary artery.

Ginsburg, 81, "experienced discomfort during routine exercise" on Tuesday evening, according to a statement from the Court.

She underwent coronary catheterization procedure at MedStar Washington Center this morning.

Despite being diagnosed with colon cancer in 1999 and pancreatic cancer in 2009, Ginsburg, appointed to the Supreme Court by President Bill Clinton in 1993, has never missed a day of oral arguments due to medical treatment.

The court is set to hear arguments on Monday. According to Supreme Court spokeswoman Kathy Arberg, "Justice Ginsburg expects to take the bench Monday."

In a recent interview with Yahoo’s Katie Couric, Ginsburg said she’d continue to serve the Court “as long as I can do it full-steam.”

“When I feel myself slipping, when I can no longer think as sharply or write as quickly, that will be the time for me to leave the Court,” she said last summer. "I’m still here and likely to remain for a while."

I wish her the best. I admire her work on the court but hope she will step down in next two years. We need someone who holds the same values as she has to be appointed.

I agree, chessylady, but she seems to have a different take on the subject. Wishing her a speedy recovery.

I wish her the best and hopefully she can keep her record in tact. If she had a non-problematic angioplasty and has had no particular blood or cardiovascular related issues? Many go home the day after having this type of invasive procedure.
