The other day, one of my co-workers asked me how much my dad left me in life insurance money.

RUDE!!!

I told him that I didn't want to say, which was true.

It's nobody's business how much was left to me.

Has anyone ever asked you a rude question?

I would say I'm still here working and walk away.  No need to give a real answer.  I can't think of any rude questions I've been asked.

Sure they have.

"Why don't you have any children" is one.

I just glare.

Yes, people ask all sorts of personal information.  On the other some people volunteer too much of their own personal information.

@Anonymous032819   Ignorant person.

You answered as you saw fit but me?  I wouldn't even acknowledged that there was insurance, even though you didn't want to say the $.

Next time simply smile and not answer.

The last time somebody asked a really personal question I just smiled.

The person asked again.  Same response.  Asked again-and said "I've asked you 3 times" and I said "And 3 times I didn't answer you".

I learned that somewhere long ago from another person.

That is interesting. Maybe we have the same friend. A person I went to high school with, and I had not seen in at least 30 years, asked my how much money I inherited when my parents died.
