Two weeks ago I purchased 3 gift cards at Rite Aid. In their circular they

offered $8 back in rewards on your card when you purchase a gift card

that week of $50.

With 3 gift cards bought, I knew I had $24 coming to me that I could redeem

towards merchandise in their store. I went in today to buy hair products and

I went up to the register. The cashier said my total is $13. I asked her what

about my rewards? She said well nothing is showing. I told her that I didn't

know what happened because with my rewards I shouldn't have to pay

anything for my hair products.

She called for help and the manager said you don't have anything showing

for rewards. I said yes, I do. It is at least $24. The cashier said do you still

want the 2 items. I said no, I am going to call Rite Aid's main office and get

this straightened out.

Went out to my car and call the number on the back of my card. First it

is no longer called Plenti Rewards even though that is what my card reads.

Couldn't get through with that number. Had to go back into the store and

they said call 1-800-Rite-Aid. Got thru and told the operator the issue.

She tells me that they were having trouble with the gift cards and she

will put the $24 back onto my card and it will be valid after 6 a.m. on

Thursday.

Wow, what a relief! I didn't know anything about the problems they were

having. How is a customer to know, only when you try to redeem them and

you get upset when they tell you that nothing is appearing with your card.

Glad I got that taken care of. Now when I go back, hope everything

is up and working. If people don't call you lose it and Rite Aid makes out.

I think Walgreens has purchased Rite Aid, or they are about to. That might account for the issues they are having. Also, don't they usually limit the deals to 2 per customer?

@dal23  Our Rite Aid never changed. I read about switching over to Walgreens

more than a year ago but then I am pretty sure that fell thru.

No there is no limit with the gift cards. I am going back on Friday so it better

be loaded to my rewards card since I called and they said it would be.

Our Rite Aid is now a Walgreens - so it depends on the store I guess.  But we stopped going there, it is a disaster, always has been.  I did not know their rewards program isn't called Plenti anymore.

Glad you called and got it straightened out.

the PLENTI program ended in 2018 for all retailers that were involved. some created a new rewards program.

all of our rite aids have shut down OR rebranded as walgreens.
