No way a hacker is getting into these random children scenarios.

That, into itself, should be eyebrow raising.

I feel this was very deliberate by the owner of these devices.

My guess?

The owners of these passwords are sold on the Dark Web to pedophiles.

There's some John/Jane Doe in generic suburbia right now

pimping their children out for big-time cash via stragetically

placed child monitors.
And it comes to light when an innocent party finds out.

Just seems REALLY odd the hackers are only discovered

when kids are involved.

Sounds crazy, but I've heard of worse...much, much worse.

@sidsmom

Not true, I watched one video from an inside Ring system where a grown man opened his refrigerator and the hacker said, "Hungry, huh? Whatcha having?"

Too creepy for me!

I don't have any of the 'smart' stuff, I mean if they're 'smart' phones, why don't they keep people from 'drunk dialing'?

Just curious and I'll leave the "tin hat" reference alone, wink.

My husband works for a company that sells these products.  In that case in Mississippi the child gave the code info to her friend and it was the father of the friend who was speaking to the child. My husband and his coworkers were told that in each case the

@a cowboy fan   I'm not finding this story online.  Where did you get this info?

I seriously doubt the child had the code.  I thought the code/password was to log into the account.

And if this story is true, that "father" is a pervert.

Re: 'Ring' and Amazon Sued Over Hackers

Why don't we hear more about these types of hacks?

My 2 cents: the hacks getting attention are when the hacker outs themselves, making their presence known.

How about the hacker who compiles his videos silently then sells hours worth on the dark web?
