So, I was looking at a product that had three reviews. The first two reviews were not about the product but how inadequately the host was presenting it. The other review was from someone who didn't receive the product yet. I took issue with the negativity portrayed of the host, so I wrote a review, I was above board I didn't have the item but couldn't let it stand about the comments of the host ( I also stated how can you review something you don't have). So I get an email from QVC stating my review was rejected, standing up for a host is a no, but being unkind to them is okay.

QVC's review system has been nearly useless for forever. They don't bother to actually read the review to make sure the person has purchased and received the item being "reviewed" and they don't do anything about it, if you report it.
I've seen so many reviews that state emphatically that the person will NOT buy the item for whatever reason, gives the product one star, and it still gets through. There's no review; just a personal rant about why the item shouldn't be sold or bought by anyone.
Years back it was a topic on these forums and many people wrote to corporate, in one form or another, to get this changed and QVC has done nothing. There is no reason to think they ever will.
Whatever third-party (I presume) company operates their review system, they're not worth whatever they're being paid.

@Jordan2 The review section is not for discussion between participants. As stupid as they were, the existing "reviews" should stand without comment. You can mark them unhelpful. I can understand why QVC rejected your review; why the rest were accepted seems to be in line with the Q policy, whatever that is.
QVC's reviews are pretty much an abomination but with everything else going on, I can see why they have a low priority.

@Stray I don't get how QVC allows the bashing of a host and allows reviews on products that a person doesn't have. The whole point of a review is to tell the reader if they liked the product or not which can factor into the consumer's decision to purchase or not.

@Jordan2 Exactly! Why not look out for fellow consumers? If you dislike a host write to QVC & the vitriol does not belong on a review. QVC should verify that the person actually purchased the product. I think I've seen that on Amazon.

@Jordan2 Why is this a constant issue? We've been reading the same complaints for years.
The Q hasn't changed so far and while I agree "unhelpful"reviews are nonsense, there are always plenty of well-thought out reviews for most products.
Seriously-this isn't a major issue.
It's more about trying to control the reviews than it is about really caring about the hosts. Just like everything else around here.
Read what is helpful and skip over what displeases you.
It's that simple.

@Jordan2 @I think that consistent unhelpfuls might get reviews removed. Just guessing though.
