I read them but I don't trust them.

I so agree! How is it helpful to anyone to say they are sold out in your size or the color you want is not offered? Reviews are not a complain area if you didn't even buy the product. They're supposed to help others who want to buy the product. I get so annoyed with these irrelevant reviews I've started reporting them.

I always read reviews. I order a lot from Amazon and depend on the reviews. For instance, recently I ordered new shades for my kitchen table chandelier. Many of the reviews said they were too short, so I looked at the measurements and ordered the ones that were an inch longer. I never would have thought about that if I hadn't read the reviews.
I order clothes from Loft and Anthropologie if the store doesn't have the item. I always check the reviews, particularly for fit information.

I read many reviews before I purchase an item. I also read many reviewers profiles too. For a good % - portion of very poor reviews, there are a lot of them that are very hard to please. I do wonder why those folks still buy from QVC if they don't like the majority of products they buy. I remember one profile had a 1.8 average rating after reviewing over 100 products...SMH. So that would be a reviewer that I would take their comments like a grain of salt.
Overall I appreciate many reviews and take them into consideration when/if I make a purchase. Sometimes it's a brand new item and well, we all take chances in that regard.

marp i agree with you.i have read some aweful reveiws about stuff and for example we got a new george formon grill and lock@ lock and an he agitatorless washer. some user error or sometimes not reading or understanding products.

I try to see if there is a common complaint within all the reviews. So many reviews on QVC are so silly. I just shake my head. I remember one review complaining the IT Cosmetics confidence in a compact had no mirror. When you receive it there is one of those plastic things over the mirror and you have to peel it off.

I appreciate reviews that tell what they liked or didn't like when they've actually used the product. The more expensive the item, the more valuable are the reviews. I do wish reviewers of cookbooks would tell which recipes they liked or didn't. Pretty photos or lack of tells nothing about how good or terrible the food will be. Amazon reviews are usually helpful, here they seem about 50/50.

As in any site, I check the person's other reviews to see if they give everything a poor review (meaning they may be overly negative or just being contrary) or if they review everything favorably, they may be overly generous or padding reviews.
I also look at what things they are rating low and if they apply to my needs and expectations.

On the HSN site when you read reviews, you can click yes or no whether or not the review is/was helpful. When the review has to do with the UPS or USPS delivery issue then I disregard the review.
