On this phone 1 text is one text so that's 1200 texts.
So you are saying on this phone a text is 1 min? Because on my LG840g a text is .3 min unless it is very long. Yes, the phone you have is the one I am thinking of getting. I am assuming that the 1200 min is for a year of service?
You're correct about the LG840g. You can receive/open 3 texts per unit (minute). The android phones, however, are very different. I got the TSV LG Optimus Dynamic II, and like it a lot, but you can send/receive only one text per unit. Notice I said "receive," because you're charged whether or not you open the text. Also, you can't deduct units from another (say, phone or data) "bucket" when the text one runs dry. You need to buy another card. Data cards are sold separately, though they don't triple and don't extend your service date.
Texting has become Tracfone's cash cow.

Adelle - or anyone who can answer - when you bought this Tracfone did you have min already from another tracfone to port over? If you did were you able to do so without calling Tracfone customer service? I would like to avoid calling them if at all possible.Tracfone customer service is usually difficult to deal with.

Yes it is! When I bought the Samsung phones for me and DS (11/2012) they had 1400 minutes on them, and triple the added minutes for the life of the phone. DS imported over 2000 minutes from his old tracfone, but he likes to text sometimes. In less than a year he was out of minutes. I told him to stick to Skype on his laptop since it's free!

This was the TSV from the Q... it's cheaper than HSN and offered on easy pay.
The one on HSN was a Q TSV in March. The OP was talking about the LG not the Samsung.
Thanks Adelle.. I am new to these types of phone and thought someone meant the recent (MAY 15th) Q TSV...
I just reread the O.P and I don't see where she mentioned the LG..
I guess both phones were offering the same perks..??

Yes, I already had an account w/ tracfone so I easily ported minutes from DS's old tracfone. Mine was replacing the landline, so no minutes for that. It's easy to set up an acct. on the tracfone site, and they will email you when your service is needed to be renewed w/ a new card. Also, you need to give them you SIM card # and it's easier to dismantle the new phone and typing it in on the website to register. Much better than calling! Most of those people don't speak English.

There was not problem porting my number and transferring my minutes on line BUT in order to go those 1200 minutes, there is a special PIN that must be entered after you complete activation. The instructions and number will come with your phone.

I have a Tracfone and have called CS many times. I've never had a non-English speaking representative.

I agree - when I bought m,y LG840g at Radio Shack the poor SA was on the phone with them for almost an hour trying to port over my min and days. He was extremely frustrated.I'm sure it is better doing it online.

Since the perks are EXACTLY the same,is it just the phone that is different?
I LOVE the Galaxy... The reception is amazing even in my underground garage...
