That's right folks! Just when you thought that we had seen the last of the ex-Amish and ex-Menonite, they return in an all new series, "Return to Amish".
Get ready to Return to Amish. TLC is bringing back the cast of the original Breaking Amishfor a trip back to their roots. Premiering Sunday, June 1 at 9 p.m., Return to Amish kicks off with a holiday reunion.
Abe, Rebecca, Sabrina, Jeremiah and Kate all return to have their new lives chronicled for the cameras. Breaking Amish and Breaking Amish: A Brave New World followed the cast members as they experienced New York City and Florida. Everybody has since returned to Pennsylvania except Kate, who stayed in New York City.
The series picks up Abe and Rebecca expecting a baby and Sabrina grappling with her pregnancy. Sabrina breaks down and reveals things at home with her Mennonite family are not going well. "I don't know what's going on at home," Sabrina says. "Everything's just been really unstable and I can't talk about it right now."
"I don't have a lot of support from my family at all," she says through tears. But that's where her Return to Amish family comes in.
The series will also feature Mary, Katie Ann and Andrew and the debut of Chester, Mary's husband, Chapel, Andrew's girlfriend and Kayla, Rebecca's daughter.
Return to Amish premieres Sunday, June 1 on TLC.
I have to admit, this group/show is my guilty pleasure. I admit that the show/group is stupid, but I'm hooked on it.
As always, there will be drama. There wouldn't be a show if there wasn't. Mary and her 19 year old daughter Katie Ann go to New York, and Mama Mary cuts loose!
So, set your dvr's (I know you will! *wink*) and don't miss a single exciting, drama-filled episode of "Return to Amish", Sunday nights on TLC!

I used to work in an area with lots of Amish & thought this looked interesting. Is it real or fake like some "reality" shows?
It's not hard to pick up if you've never watched before. The drama in the show is manufactured, like it is on most "reality" shows. The story line is about five self-centered ex-Amish, and their lives as they return to PA.
I call it "junk food tv".

I am guilty of watching this show last night.
I watched the first season but didn't watch the second season. Tuned in last night to see that not much had changed. They're all still nuts.
I find the show to be very contrived.

I watched these kids for the NY season and the Florida season. I'm looking forward to this new one. They intrigue me. What can I say?

This show and the Amish mafia are both so fake! If Mary was , in fact, being shunned and her husband was not he or the daughter would not be able to speak to her, or eat with her etc. Shunning is a type of harsh punishment. Chester and katie ann would also not be allowed to have their pictures taken (the TV cameras) - just a huge big ole FAKE. If these people are Amish i am the queen of England. but, yes, I do watch it for the laughs .

These shows are my guilty pleasure, fake or not. Who is the father of Sabrina's baby?

I know it's fake but I don't care either. The father of the baby is on the show. Somebody here help me remember his name. He was at the dinner at Mary's house at Christmas on the show last night.

Out of curiosity, about a year or so ago I watched 2-3 episodes. A couple of things struck me at that time: their lack of education; appalling consumption of liquor; the filth that flies out of their mouths; and, how in the heck they expect to lead fulfilling and productive lives outside of their Amish communities.
I agree. It's incredibly contrived. However, maybe they're making enough money to consider alternatives, if indeed, they are interested.
