Re: Rest In Peace Gloria Vanderbilt

I remember her fragrance called Vanderbilt. I used to wear it years ago.

The irony is sometimes one can live too long, a year sooner and she probably would have just gone to sleep instead of having to endure the pain of cancer.  My MIL lived to 99, began to sleep a lot then just didn't wake up one day.

@Greeneyedlady21  A very classy, talented, artistic, courageous lady.  She had much to put up with growing up and then survived the tragedy of one son who committed suicide.  Glad that she had Anderson Cooper, another son, around for her in her final time.  She had a life well lived, despite many daunting challenges.

@godi   I still purchase and wear her jeans exclusively.  For me, they are the best fit, price point, and wear very well.

@ripka junkie   Yes, if only everyone could go the way my MIL did.  My mother passed while sitting in a chair, bleeding in the brain, no pain for either of them.

@cowboy sam   We must have been writing at the same time.  I, too, have her jeans on right now.  They look so nice, and I love the natural waistline for me.

This just came through on my Facebook feed. Within the article was a beautiful video tribute by her son, Anderson Cooper.

The books about her life are very interesting.  A fascinating woman.  She had a lovely way of speaking and what she said was so honest and gracious.  Anderson was also gracious and loving for sharing her with us.

Rest in Peace Gloria.  The world is a bit less bright with your passing.  Heart

The tribute is so powerful.

The way he had ‘Shake-Voice’ at the end...I lost it.

You know, her past life definitely had many ups/downs...and I’m sure

at the time, many were judging negatively.  Maybe today, her life should

be a lesson for all of uson the outside looking in to the many celebrities

we hear/read about.  All the money/glamour...at the end of the day,

she just wants to be happy & in love..like the rest of us.
