Re: Remember Today and Always

Do you remember how you felt that day?

Do those feelings surface every year?

The feelings surface almost daily as I look at change in the skyline

Re: Remember Today and Always

@Cakers3 I am watching the ceremony right now, I feel I owe it to all that died that day, to hear their names and see their faces. I remember exactly what I was doing when I heard the news. I came back from the grocery store and put on the TV. This was before we got cable in our area, I thought oh no what did my mom do to the set? The only channel I could get was CBS ( I live in NYC the antennas from the stations must have been on top of the Towers). My parents were both still alive and they were at the eye doctor. I called them and kept them and the office staff up to date about what was going on. My brother ( now deceased) worked in Manhattan, he came home thanfully, but he got home really late that night, he somehow got into a group cab ride as no trains were going in or out of the city.

My son had broken his wrist the night before this happened... my mother and I took him to the doctor that morning..(after dropping the twins off at school)..(they were very young!) When we got to the doctor's office...everyone was watching this tragedy in the

waiting room on TV! We were all in shock!!!!!Woman Sad

Yes, I remember........I had just taken a shower and was getting dressed and had the TV on in my bedroom.  The first pic I saw was the person jumping from one of the buildings, surely to his death...........and then came all the other sickening pics after that.  I felt my heart race and called one of my sons.  All I said was "Bin Laden"

I was glued to the TV the rest of the day with one of my many rosaries in my hand, praying.  And then the other plane crashes that came after that.........What a horrible day and many days after that!!  All those pics stay in my mind.  Can't forget.

@Patriot3   Same here.  I had just stepped out of the shower and had GMA on the TV.  I heard Diane Sawyer reporting a plane and a tower.

After that all h*ll broke loose.

Re: Remember Today and Always

I get the same recollection and feelings as when JFK was shot. Where  was I? What was I doing? I was an Elementary student and sent home early after coming around to each classroom with the news.

Today,  I  am recalling being in the High School with students during 911. Many more Televisons on ,so we knew right away.   I felt apprehensive and worried both times.

It's good to read the posts here and other places about the feelings of everyone on this day.  It helps to know we are not alone and America sticks together!!
