@goldensrbest,   I had the same problem with reed diffusers.  A better choice is to buy an electric diffuser where you add water and essential oils.  I recently purchased one for $19.99 and it changes colors if you want it to and there is an automatic shut off too.  I love it.  You do not hear any noise at all.

This is my preference as well. I have bought reed diffusers, candles, melts, etc and for me, the cool mist diffusers are no muss/no fuss, have a lot of options as far as timers, sizes, colors, decor styles, and most important to me, I can actually smell them throughout a room for aromatherapy.

I would recommend picking up essential oils at places like Ross, TJ Maxx, Marshall’s, etc as they’re 40-50% off. I also discovered an online resource - bulkapothecary dotcom. They sell oils, diffusers and other things at very good prices for the size of what you get.

Funny - several years ago, I purchased 2-3 different diffusers online and in a store and they all died within a month. I thought all diffusers were like this. A couple of months ago I bought one at Marshall’s and it’s been running 6-8 hrs/day almost every day and shows no signs of dying. I recently purchased a backup made by the same mfg - Spa Room. Many places sell this brand - Amazon and the website I reference above for starters.

I LOVE my mist diffuser!

@SilleeMee

Glad this old thread popped up as I had completely forgotten all your great information.

I've book marked it now and will take some time to search for the recommended system.

Not sure I will take the leap, but wanted to thank you for the thorough response if I had not done so.
