I'm a long time diffusing fan! I no longer do the reed type diffusers. I have switched to an electronic nebulizer. With this type device you do not add any water to your oils nor is there any cleaning of the device. The other kind, where you add water to a small tank, wastes a lot of oil and it can get expensive especially when you are diffusing certain types of costly oils. Plus you have to clean it out regularly. I prefer the nebulizer type. It's a miraculous invention!Woman Happy

I like those Joy Mangano fragrance sticks (or whatever they're called).  Nothing liquid; just dry plastic sticks I place all around the house.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

I've used Antica Farmacista for about a dozen years. They last and plus there are many different scents. My favorite is Santorini.

Thank you for taking interest in this device @Witchy WomanWoman Happy. I bought mine from amazon. Although it is an expensive gadget ($129), I think you will find saving money with using less essential oils in the long haul. There are other brands of nebulizers but I like this one because all you do is attach your vial of oil where there is no need to pour or add anything more and there is absolutely nothing ever to clean. I know the device looks complicated with all those knobs but once you get it home and use it then they will make sense. It's only 6-inches tall. About the only thing some people find they don't like is that it does make a little hissing noise when it goes into the diffusing mode. Other than that it is a wonderful device. Made in the USA!

@SilleeMee

Forgive me for going back and pulling up an older thread.

I would like to ask a question: does one use the nebuluzer/diffuser for health reasons, such as if you have a cold?

Or is the nebuluzer/diffuser strictly for the purpose of creating a beautiful scent in the room/area?

I am very sensitive to any scent but have not tried many essential oil scents? Do you have any recommendations?

No worriesWoman Happy @LTT1. Happy to see that you are enjoying some of my pics and posts.

I use a diffuser for making a room smell good. I think it's important to know what kind of oils should and should not be diffused because they can cause respiratory problems and can be toxic for pets. I diffuse only pure essential oils, not 'fragrance oil'. The difference is eo are made from plants, either whole or part of a plant/flower is processed to make eo. Fragrance oils are man-made chemicals and are an artificial simulation of a flower or fruit and should only be used in making candles or soaps. Caution should be taken when diffusing any oil. I believe the ess oil industry does not stress this enough. I am no expert in the field but I own and have read this book and it has helped me find safe and effective uses for most of the eo I use. This book is very inexpensive yet full of good stuff about health benefits from oils and how to blend them to suit your particular needs. Not all oils are for diffusing and this is important to note. I highly recommend this book if you are interested in eo:

That word "aromatherapy" bothers me somewhat. There is no evidence that any eo is in anyway therapeutic. The term is used loosely and I believe it applies to simply making something smell nice...pleasantly aromatic.Woman Happy
