He's contradicting most other scientists. This feels a lot like listening to the small percentage of scientists who say climate change isn't a big deal instead of the vast majority who agree it is.

Hope is good, but I worry about things that feel like false hope. One guy disagreeing with the majority feels like a red flag to me.

The problem with painting a rosier picture is that people become lax and don't take the warnings and guidelines as seriously.  We cannot be lax at this time. Always best to err on the side of caution.

Wear a mask. Social distance. Be part of the solution - not part of the problem.

Well said, @Deree . I worry about my dad reading things like this. He's always been one of those "everything will be fine" people and I'm having a hard enough time getting him to take this seriously as it is.

Unfortunately, I can't read this article unless I sign up.  No one knows how long this will last and what the outcome will be.  I want to believe that experienced and knowledgeable scientists and doctors are providing us with safe guidelines.  Most of us would rather err on the side of caution than take chances letting this virus get out of control.  We all want hope, but we also have to be smart.

Re: Reading this may give you a bit of hope

I do not need anyone to tell me I will be fine [we]. I had double pneumonia and the flu  at the same time. I week later my father passed away from cancer. We had to postpone the funeral until I was able to go. This is a cake walk for me. We will all get though this because we have no choice but, to get though it.
