He is so gorgeous! Mandarin ducks are said to be the most beautiful ducks in the whole world.

I love birds. They one of the few things that calm me down. When I'm upset or just having a rough day just going to the nearby park to feed pigeons helps. Not that pigeons are pretty but they are better than crows.

I returned from a cruise last week. While in Costa Rica, I zip-lined through the rain forest and got stuck once...and came face to face with a sloth. It was so cool to be that close.

@Sublime Saumya I agree with everything you said. To me, male Wood ducks come in as the 2nd most beautiful ducks. We feed wildbirds here...mealworms to the Robins in the Spring/Summer, hummer juice for the hummingbirds during the migration periods and seeds, peanuts, cracked corn in the winter.

What's wrong with the Crows? LOL Here they share the shelled peanuts with the Blue Jays

Hope this beautiful duck is still there next Friday because I'm flying into the city and I told my son Central Park has to be our first stop so I can see him.

My parents lived on a lake and always had ducks in the yard -- loved to watch them.
