Re: Mass shooting in a yoga studio

@cherry  It won't until we stop teaching people that life isn't all about them and there will be things that don't go their way and they need to learn to deal with it.

For so long everybody has been a victim, nobody has been responsible for their actions, and they haven't been taught that you don't always get what you want in life.  Patience, acceptance, kindness, selflessness, and morales have slipped by the wayside.

When you get angry, when you are disappointed, when life isn't fair, don't think about how  you can change yourself and your life, just blame someone else and take it out on them.  That'll show 'em!

It's not going to end.  Mental health services are minimal, guns are abundant and easy to obtain.  There are millions in circulation that can't be controlled.   The time to take action has passed; now we'll live with the consequences.

Mental health services can't fix everything.  It needs to start in the home.  People need parents who have parenting skills and who are parents and authority figures, not friends or absent friends.

We've come to a place where we don't even expect people to behave.

You hit the nail on the head here.  Mothers and Fathers need to teach the children patience and love and how to handle hate without more hate.

We're all full of platitudes. If parents did this, if people were somehow not who they are, etc., etc.

And round and round we go. I see no end in sight.

It's not too late.  If we give up, we let them run all over us.  We need to stand up and vote most the bad people out of office and teach the kids respect and what happened in the past so as not to repeat it.  Teachers need to instruct and not look over what is going on in their classroom.  Please people don't give up.  IF we do we go back to what happened during WWII.

Many, not all, Mothers and Fathers are best friends with money. Morals, manners, respect and responsibility aren't taught to the kids.

Get the kid out of diapers and off to a school for teachers to raise the child. Teachers have enough to do without having to raise someone else's child. It's not a teacher's job to teach your kid to behave, that's the parent's job.

Everyone is a victim today. A lady down the street called the police on her neighbor because they were outside after 10 PM. What was her excuse? THEY made her call the police. Somehow she was their victim.

Guns are banned completely in China, and yet a lady managed to harm 14 kindergarten students recently using a knife. A gun may make it easier, you don't need to get as close, but it's not the cause. Why would a 39 year old woman do that to all of those children? It happens frequently there.

The cause is society. We don't know how to handle anger, or frustration, or sadness, or loneliness, or whatever the problem is that makes us think today I'm going to harm as many people as I can.

Thank you for your sensible intelligent answer, I couldn't agree more.  I could add but you summed it up.
