Also going to my school was Beverly Poitier daughter of Sidney Poitier. I don't remember seeing Mr. Portier though. I'm sure they were at all the school assemblies though. That was a long time ago. Ruby Dee was so pretty. I remember that.

Fifty years ago I saw her performance as Katherine in Taming of the Shrew at the American Shakespeare Festival in Stratford, Connecticut. She illuminated the stage. I'll always remember her as Rachel Robinson in the Jackie Robinson Story. She was also a great humanitarian.

It's always a victory for me when I remember why I entered a room.
