RIP, Randy Meisner (Eagles rock band)

Passed at 77 from COPD complications.

An excellent songwriter, vocalist, and musician.  Plus a very kind soul.

Co-wrote and sang lead on 'Take It To The Limit':             https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5RXEx26VAOg

Also known for writing and singing lead on the beautiful and underrated 'Try And Love Again' from the Hotel California album:

Peaceful rest to you, Randy, and thank you.

Re: RIP, Randy Meisner (Eagles rock band)

Thanks for letting us know @feline groovy. This is our favorite band. DH actually introduced me to them. We have seen them in concert a few times, and we were lucky to see them before the pandemic with Deacon Frey and Vince Gill.

I just told DH when he came in and sat down. He said, "Take it to the Limit."

Great talent who will be missed.

I saw the Eagles in concert shortly after Take It To The Limit was first hot on the radio. Great concert!! I've always liked the Eagles.

Just hate that these rock band members are getting old and dying---they stay young in my mind tho--saw the Eagles in 1975 in Seattle---paid $10 per ticket!!

[ Edited ]

Very sad to hear.  I'm a few years behind him and it's starting to hit hard that we're getting up there.  Someone asked me my age the other day and when I told her, she was shocked.  Told me I not only look young but have a very young spirit.  That was a great compliment and it's how I feel inside.  Then I read about Randy and others and realize I'm up there in age too.  Mick turned 80 the other day and Sir Paul is 81.  Bruce is in his 70's as are a host of other rockers.  Wait, wasn't it just the other day I saw The Beatles at Shea Stadium???

Re: RIP, Randy Meisner (Eagles rock band)

I wonder who will replace him. I believe The Eagles are touring this year. The first time I saw them it was at a college in a fair sized room. We had to set up our own folding chairs! Joe Walsh wasn't even with them at the time.

Now that Frey is also gone the sound can change.

AC/DC was never the same when co-founder Malcolm Young passed away and his nephew replaced him.

The Moody Blues disbanded after co-founder Graeme Edge  (drums) died 2 years ago. Justin Hayward said the Moody Blues are no more.

Sometimes when cofounders, who are the backbone of these groups, the sound is not the same nor the stage presence of the players.

RIP Randy. 😢

Re: RIP, Randy Meisner (Eagles rock band)

We saw the Eagles after Randy unfortunately left in 1977.  We had just gotten married 2 years earlier and just  moved out of the last apartment and saving to build.  No money for concerts.

Randy was always my favorite.
