Jon Stewart had Your Moment of Zen last night with Joan performing as a young woman.

She truly was an extraordinary person.

So hard to process that such a vital and strong woman is gone, just like that.

It's so hard to believe she's gone. Just like Robin Williams, they were larger than life and so much a part of our lives that we didn't even seem to realize it until they were gone.

Rest in peace, Joan. My her loved ones find peace and healing for their loss.

Thanks for expressing exactly my thoughts, Lion. I'll really miss her.

I feel fortunate to have been able to view and laugh at Joan mostly on QVC, but also on other television programs. Her quick passing out of the blue, has really affected me and I keep tearing up.

Last night Greta Van Susteren did a really nice tribute to her that included clips from Johnny Carson, Jack Parr, a number of night club gigs, interviews with fellow comics, and a couple of her recent tirades a la Joan - so wonderful. She never held back! She did "in your face" so well! Oh, I wish I could get away with it.

You left us too soon and will be missed.

Rest in Peace.

This is what I take away from Joan Rivers and the way she lived her life: Live life on your terms. Be authentic to who you are. Do what you love and keep living life to the fullest every day. LIVE IN THE PRESENT. I think that's what she did. I think it's a good model for everyone.

They had a wonderful tribute on Live with Kelly and Michael this morning. KR read a statement that the show had been recorded well before her death, and included condolences. Then they broadcast 5 or so minutes of retrospectives on Joan's appearances on the show.

That was a thoughtful way to handle what might have looked like an omission.

I'll add something else she role modeled... she was brave and she was Woman Strong.

I read that Kathy Griffin (who was a very close friend of Joan's) said that celebrities felt neglected if they weren't mentioned in Joan's act. And interestingly, (because many here in the past have said they didn't like Joan and they always mention that she was "so mean" to Elizabeth Taylor) she said that JR and Elizabeth Taylor were very good friends and that ET got a real kick out of Joan's digs. Rest in peace and love, Joan - you'll be sorely missed!
