@Oznell wrote:Whew-- complex discussion. Because of my particular world view, I believe that sexuality was created for marriage. I think an intelligence greater than our own, knew that something as potent as sex was best served by the safeguards of marriage.
I do feel very sorry for Mr. Hefner, regret for the type of life he lived and encouraged several generations of people to live.
Perhaps, at the end, he regretted it in his heart. I'm going to hope for that.
@Oznell Your opinion matters to you and I don't see where you are chastizing any poster for not holding to the same. Stay true to yourself.

Remember when Burt Reynolds was a centerfold? Was that MS. or Playgirl? I wish i had kept that issue!
@stuyvesant It was Cosmopolitan and I still have a copy in mint condition.
Oooooh, lucky you.
Of course, if he posed today, he would be HEAVILY criticized for that hairy chest.
@stuyvesant Ha! My mother actually said "ewww" about his hair. LOL
And she actually bought the copy.

So do I 😃
@Noel7 Sometimes you will catch it on Ebay. Supposedly there are copies of pics/stills/negatives of him without the well-place hand. I've seen one and I'll say no more. ![]()
Probably some photoshopped pic anyway.

People are trying to make the ‘comparison’ to other
adult magazines like Playgirl, Hustler, Penthouse, etc,
but none of those are even light-years close to the
signficance of Playboy. So many important authors got
their start through a Playboy publication.

@Noel7 I just did a quick look and most are around $16 give or take a few $$.

Hugh Hefner absolutely was a visionary. He also left quite an impressive civil rights legacy behind. He gave progressives causes a platform and also funded many things from progressive causes to legal causes, even funding Americas very first rape kit.

So did Bill Cosby and his pill dates.
