The iconic New Orleans musician has died of a heart attack at 77. Loved his bluesy stylings.

A fantastic movie which has a Dr. John segment singing/playing 'Such A Night' is called 'The Last Waltz' - featuring The Band with many many of their musician friends.

I can't recommend this film highly enough if you are able to see it.

The documentary The Last Waltz featuring the Band and other music greats is without a doubt one of my favorites also.  Scorzese did a terrific job as the director.  I love the Band's music and I honor Dr. John who was a great blues artist, and was in the documentary. 

My sister lived near Woodstock in the late sixties and would often see the Band members in town just hanging out along with other artists. 

Rest in peace, Dr. John, you have made your mark in the music world.
