I have learned to live by myself. Yes it is lonely at times but I am adjusting

I have also met a few people that I consider friends.  I go out to bingo with them and an occasional lunch or dinner.   Hard to plan for much because of health issues but I am trucking along.

Also experienced my first fall weather and change of colors for the first time in 22 years and I absolutly loved it.

A tough year of trying to keep my dad and stepmother in their own home for another year as dementia continued to take its toll on them. In august, she broke a hip. In September, dad broke his leg. After surgeries and lengthy physical rehab, they were finally reunited in a small apartment in memory care at a year-old nursing home last month. And then two nights ago, some glitch caused all sprinklers to go off and the place flooded and was evacuated. We are dealing with all that at this moment as they get settled elsewhere for a few weeks. I see no light at the end of this tunnel for them. We keep travelling down there every few weeks to visit and work on clearing their house so it can be sold. A sad stressful year but we are grateful they have lived so long and been mostly healthy until the last five years. Beyond that, this was the first year in my life that  I have ever been truly afraid because of the rude public discourse  and the lack of understanding of the constitut'l fundamentals among some. This is the year I became afraid. Hoping for some bright spots in 2017.

My hubby died 12/22/15.  I know what you are going through.  Wish I could give you a hug.  Take care---my thoughts are with you.

So sorry.  Too many empty places.

I am proud of myself for persevering through a major heart attack, subsequent heart failure and doing everything possible to get well. I am out of heart failure and very active again...exercise everyday and feeling really well. I am looking forward to 2017...

I can thank @hckynutjohn for being alive. If I had not read his posts I would never have gone to the ER. He also posted about his experience with statins. It changed my mind and now my cholesterol is no longer an issue.

Who knew that reading here could save a life. I will always be thankful for John's wisdom and advice on heart disease.

@Trinity11   I think of you often and I'm so happy to read about your progress.

I wish there were no political posts in this thread.  Sigh...

I do do wish the mods would remove them.

2016 has been a year of blow after blow after blow for us. Some of them were just downright cruel.  I am grateful for the good, though.

Praying for 2017 to be much better.
