Reminds me of when QVC used to sell Bear Trax(?) or something like that.  I bought 4 pair of those and gave one to my sister, one to my sister-in-law and another to my niece.  

 

I'm retired so rarely leave the house - but I still have mine and keep a pair in my glove compartment so if I have to go out and it may be icy I can pull them over my shoes or boots.
