Re: RE: thread about forums not bustling with activity

Too many long time posters, including the pseudo-new posters, seem to confuse interesting and stimulating posts with nasty and ugly posts. If I was in webbie's place I would've banned this whole place by now.

"That right there is one reason why this place isn't bustling with activity. Nothing is allowed to remain 'active' unless it's what I consider to be inconsequential fluffy nonsense. I know, they own it, they rule it. But, their rules are insulting and just plain stupid."

This type of thread pops up about once every couple of weeks lamenting the fact that this place has gone dead, then naming the missed posters. Why is anyone surprised or do you just like to commiserate?

Their rules aren't insulting and just plain stupid when you consider the fact that just about 100% of so-called consequential threads go bad with infighting, insults and venom (and isn't that the very definition of "bustling with activity" around here? {#emotions_dlg.glare}) which is why I almost always don't post on them.

That's encouraging. LOL

As has been discussed before, my guess (and that's all it is a guess) is that they still make money from these boards. I know personally that I would never have bought even one piece of Judith Ripka if it would not have been the buzz years ago and Potionsandlotions reviews.

Probably they keep Viewpoints to at least keep some of the off topics away from the product boards.

They must be making money from these boards otherwise they would certainly get rid of them.

What I'm tired of (among other things) are the multi-nic posters who come on, start a thread and then run like the dickens. They obviously know it's going to be poofed, but just getting it in print seems to satisfy their ego, I guess.

I just can't stand a coward ...

Yep! Not only do they start a thread, they have no problem coming into a running thread and jumping all over other posters... I think it should be mandatory that your original nic show up some where on your information...

Hi Suzie. That won't work because they are not even supposed to have another nic.
