Re: Quiet Fourth

[ Edited ]

The one family who set off fireworks in our neighborhood moved away last year.  No one misses them.

I think  the surrounding area took up the slack on the noise. It has been noisy for the last few days and I assume that it is going to continue thru the weekend.

We had rain in N. WI. at dark so that affected the fireworks. People said many shot theirs off on the 3rd around the lake resorts.

After an hour of hard rain came through, sending us all running into the house, a bit of sun came out in time for it to set. We had boaters and kayakers and swimmers and tubers and a load of us gathered on the beach to watch the fireworks display our neighbors put on over the lake. Very controlled and respectful in our little peaceful corner of the world.

A beautiful day and evening of family and friends.

Quiet here. My neighbor only set off a few instaad of the blast he ususally has. It's been so dry and I always worry one will land on my roof and set the house on fire.

We have a very famous fireworks event not far from our neighborhood each year on July 3. We watch it from our front yard with some neighbors so we avoid the traffic. Last night it was still so dang hot we stayed inside and watch A Capitol Fourth. It was so good we watched it twice. We hear the usual celebratory gunfire from an apartment complex up the road but other than that it was much quieter here as well.  Maybe because it was still 99 degrees at 9pm.

Nothing here last night and I'm out in the country. I heard a couple the night before but nothing on the 4th. And we're not in a burn ban situation with all the rain we've had so I don't know what's going on.

@Squirrels Are Trash

I've been reading this thread and wondering why others didn't think of doing the same.  When are outside dog was alive he used to hide in his dog house but I would give him Benadryl. Howie doesn't seem to be affected by the noise and I don't remember how Frankie reacted last year.   Like I said earlier there was nothing going on here last night.  It was very strange.

@monicakm

Momma here relies heavily on her calming treats, so puppers benefits too.

It's just starting to get dark here and FIREWORK EXTRAVAGANZA NIGHT 2 is beginning. 🤪😂😁
