Re: Quiet Fourth

[ Edited ]

Ours was pretty bad last night.  I took my little dog outside around 7:00 p.m. as it was not too noisy then to go potty. However, thereafter it got louder and louder.  He went to bed without being able to do his business as he was so afraid.  I woke up around 1:00 a.m. and took him out and thankfully he was able to go then.

I hope I'm wrong, but I have a feeling people will be having fireworks in the backyards here throughout the weekend.   I feel so bad for everyone's pets and wildlife as they must all be so afraid of all of the loud noises.

We did have one neighbor shoot fireworks for about an hour--it's legal here. But that was a difference from past years. It's so dry here right now, that I was a little worried about fires!

I heard a few loud booms --but off in the distance--I live in an apartment so that is one reason it was not crazy. When I had my house--oh good grief!!! Sounded like a war zone--huge and I am certain, very illegal booms---the kind that rattle the windows--idiots !!! And had a cedar shake roof---was petrified the house would burn down.

People can't afford any more and good.

Amarillo, you can't have them in town, so, they all come out to their friends house out in the country suburbs.

You have to cut them off at 12 midnight. I was reading

a Stephen King book, so , the noise was just like background noise in a movie.   LOL

They will probably shoot a few more off since tomorrow is Sat.  Should be over for good then

Now next is Halloween where I turn off the lights and stay in the back bedroom. Feed your own kids I'm not

handing out candy to them.

Well we live by the Hudson River on the Jersey side & we not only see Macys fireworks but see & hear them from at least five neighboring towns. It is a beautiful sight & many watch parties in our building.

It wasn't good here. My neighbors relish the opportunity to be idiots. They were running around the alleys, shooting fireworks close to buildings. There were lots of M80s, too. I sat inside and wished horrible things for them.

My poor dog hid all night. I gave her a good dose of calming treats, when I looked, she was snoring.

on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the loudest, ours was about a 4.  not too bad.

i just wish the M80's would be banned, they are just too loud.

my doggo was  fine, but i had DD's and she was nervous.

she was afraid to do her last potty, i had to carry her out to the middle of the yard. thankfully she went but it was a struggle.

quiet here by 11:00.  sure their will more throughout the weekend

My neighborhood was loud last evening. Plus, I live close to municipal firework shows.

I have two dogs.  One ignored the booms, the other one kept running from the front of the house to the back looking out of the windows and barking for a few minutes until I made her stop.

They both went to bed at 9 pm and fell asleep.  The noise didn't bother them, but it bothered me.

A lot of fireworks were illegal here in PA at one time.  Now, they're available and legal....and expensive.  I can't imagine spending your hard earned cash...for what?

Even as a kid, fireworks never interested me.  I never wanted to go watch them.  I don't get the draw.

I do like the laser light shows....and they're quiet.
