Re: Quick question for Twitter users

Hey @momtochloe,

I was on Twitter this morning and noticed I got 2 new followers, both of whom turned out to be these really, hm, how do I put it, um, well, Skanky women, women who put their photos up on their page in thongs and provocative poses.  I was like, What?

Anyway, I just blocked them.  I had to block someone a few months back who started calling me all kinds of names because of somethng I posted about someone I can't mention on this board.

Most of my interactions there have been fine.

It can be really fun there.  I read a thread today where some of the people had me in stitches.  I think you would enjoy it.  There are so many topics, something for everyone.  And I don't know what exactly they don't allow but I think something has to be really egregious for them to block or delete it.

Re: Quick question for Twitter users

I've had a Twitter account for years using my regular email address.  I have everthing protected.  I just read.

I change who I follow periodically.  Some people begin to annoy me or just get on a tangent that they can't get off (like this week it was Barbra Streisand), so I stop following them.

Easy peasy.

Re: Quick question for Twitter users

Just thought I would poke my head in for a couple of comments.  I use Twitter from a laptop and the "Who to Follow" suggestions are now appearing on the right side of the screeen. I"m sorry that I don't know when it changed and if it's in a setting, but it is there.

I don't do a lot of tweeting from my phone, so I can't answer for if or how it shows up there.

Twitter can be what you make of it. You can follow TV shows, actors, singers, celebs, sports personalities, etc. It just depends on what your interests are. You can always follow someone for a while and then unfollow if you don't care.

I follow accounts associated with the university I work with, the local news personalities, weather people, sports people, singers, actors, etc. Twitter is a good way to short, quick amounts of information that you can then investigate further if you want.  I've received replies & likes from a few celebs & local TV personalities. Kenny Rogers has "liked" a few of my tweets. Got birthday tweets from Thomas Gibson & Joel Murray because my friends asked. As a fan of college basketball, I follow some of the people associated with it, like ****** Vitale. I'm a nerdy geek so I follow the weather guys and they post things at times other than just local news.

One of the cool things with Twitter is you can follow regular people who share similar interests to you too. I have made Twitter friends with people all over the world.

Of course, as with all social media, most all of it is regular people with their own opinions, so sometimes you just have to take it with a grain of salt.

I hope this answers some of your questions and helps you out.
