The great thing is that you can skip them if you do not care for them.

Re: Questions about threads filled with pix

There are a few posters who just go overboard with cutsy cat pictures, or post after post of clothing.   I just do not think it is necessary to tie up a thread If you are enthralled with a subject.....start a blog or something, but, to think everyone loves cute cat pictures....they do not.  It is a big bore.

Yes, it's a springbok antelope, the national symbol for South Africa. See the pics can be educational like @Bird mama said! LOL!

I do think that posters should be respectful to the OP and not derail the thread. I would think in fashions people may post pictures of outfits.

I agree. Think of all that time it takes to copy and paste. Go back and forth all day long. I've got a house and husband to take care of. Got better things to do. Maybe after I mop, wash and iron, cook and clean, shop for food, I might have time for it though.

Google the impact and importance of "visual communication".  :-)

I agree, @doxie1.   I think bombing a discussion with lots of images isn't good "netiquette" and is considered disrespectful to those trying to carry on a conversation.    But, of course, that's different from a thread devoted solely to images.

It does take up a fair amount of time, overall, @SharkE.   I try to keep in mind, though, that these forums are important to many posters and their life away from the internet might not be as busy and active as it is for others.   Even though I understand the concept of "just a chat board" in the sense that we need to try and not allow this place to upset us or raise our blood pressure, it's a significant part of life for some folks.

Re: Questions about threads filled with pix

Yeah, your right. People don't visit each other any more. Back in my day we talked to our neighbors, now, we oldys have the internet and it's easier to sit on our butts and talk to people we don't know. LOL

I also get in 30 min a day on my recumbent bike. I worry some may be getting blood clots from to much inactivity. I check the groups I'm in when I can sit down, but, it's not my life. I cook for the church, too. Lots of lonely people out there in todays world.
