Questions about Amazon Prime and viewing their videos

If you are not an Amazon Prime member, can you still pay to watch amazon videos? If you are a Prime member are the videos that say free, free for everyone? How much is a Prime membership?

It's cheaper to pay annually or if you are a SNAP reciepient you can pay monthly, otherwise videos are $2.99 per viewing, I think.

Re: Questions about Amazon Prime and viewing their videos

My annual membership renews in a few days...Amazon sent me this email.

"your account will be charged $119.00 (plus any applicable taxes) for another year of Prime. You'll keep enjoying your Prime benefits, including unlimited FREE Two-Day Shipping, unlimited streaming of thousands of movies and TV episodes, ad-free access to over two million songs, free unlimited photo storage, exclusive 30-minute early access to Lightning Deals, free Kindle books, and more."

For me, it is well worth it.  I don't drive much, so a great deal of my shopping is done through Prime.  I have a Firestick, and often watch streamed movies and shows.  They email me from time to time offering certain free Kindle books to download.  I also go through Rakuten when I order, as they offer a % rebate for Amazon purchases in many departments.

Re: Questions about Amazon Prime and viewing their videos

@Mindy D, we pay the $119/year for Amazon Prime.  We order quite a bit from Amazon, plus I like the option of Amazon smile.  Amazon smile is just an extra that you can sign up for that for each purchase, they donate a tad bit to that organization.  Our church is a member, so they receive a donation from purchases we make through Amazon.

But we love Amazon Prime.  There are movies, TV shows, certain documentaries, etc. available.  All are available at no extra cost as an Amazon Prime member.  I can't speak about availability of movies, shows or the cost for non-members though.

There are at least ten family members using Amazon Prime and i don´t think any of us take advantage of the videos or whatever. We just love to shop.

@Mindy D  et al, I have a question about Prime.  If I have an Android Box can I add the Amazon app (is there an Amazon Prime app?) to the box to streM content?  Is that how it works?  LM

The video prices are generally 3.99 when not free.

I have a Prime app on my TV with Xfinity - it's great.

@Lilysmom

The Amazon Prime app will run on most devices running Android 7.0 or higher.

Amazon has a list of smart TV and devices that will run Amazon apps on the company site.

@Mindy D

I pay for Amazon Prime by the year for $119. I pay an additional $79 a year for Amazon Prime Unlimited Music.

A yearly subscription is always less than a monthly one.

Prime customers  can view many free videos.

New releases are not included in the free selection of movies or TV shows.

 New movies usually rent for $5.99, and you can buy TV shows for $2.99.

Are you planning to buy an Amazon Shows8? What type of voucher comes with this device?

JMO, if you buy a Amazon media device you need Prime.

Amazon gives customers a 30 day trial with Prime.
