Question about ordering on Amazon

There is a book I want to order, it is offered by a third-party.  Not sure how this works - you pay Amazon - there is a separte shipping charge from other items I am ordering on Amazon - so does Amazon pay this person or does my credit card into go to this person?  I'm assuming the person selling this book will mail it to me directly?

Re: Question about ordering on Amazon

It's just like ordering from Amazon.

Any monies that the third party is owed, Amazon will pay to them from your total payment.

The seller will ship directly to you.

You pay Amazon

then Amazon pays the book seller

you will receive an email once the book has shipped

i sell books there so if you like the service give them a good rating

the seller only knows your shipping address

does that help?

Re: Question about ordering on Amazon

The seller is paid by Amazon.  They don't get your credit card details, but do get your address.  It does cost 3.99 shipping; for books that cost a penny the seller often makes his money on shipping.  Shipping is slow sometimes.  Pick a seller with lots of transactions (hundreds of thousands) and good ratings.  Amazon will help you with any issues, i.e. condition doesn't match description.  We used this in the bookstore where I worked for special orders and had 2 problems in 10 years, with hundreds of orders.  Amazon re-imbursed for both.

Re: Question about ordering on Amazon

You pay Amazon. The third party does not get your cc info.  There is only one invoice that shows both your Amazon and non-Amazon items.  Appropriate shipping charges are added to the order.  The third party who has the book mails it to you.

Re: Question about ordering on Amazon

no your card information stays with Amazon. But if youborder. Something like a Kate Spade or Coach purse you probably have to sign for the package if it is a 3rd party seller.

Re: Question about ordering on Amazon

I also have ordered from Amazon and half of the books I wanted for a series came from different third party venders.  I didn't have any problem with any of them.

Amazon is on Mr Rebates as is Q.  If you haven't joined, you're really missing out.

Question:  is Mr. Rebates and ebates.comm the same thing?

Is one better than the other?

i haven't used one or the other and given the number of posts I am considering it before I order anything else on line.   TIA
