What exactly does focal asymmetry mean?
‎03-21-2014 07:45 PM
Generally it refers to an abnormality.

Thanks Sydney. I am getting that too in my google info. Trying to find out the percentage of those abnormalities that turned out to be nothing.

That I'm not sure of though an ultrasound will give specialists a little more detail about the area of concern. Do not panic.

There could be an infinite number of reasons for the initial reading. Another round of x-rays and/or an ultrasound will give a better idea of the issue. Again, I urge not to panic.

I got a letter giving the results. My doctor sent me for a mammogram and an ultrasound this week. I got the results for the ultrasound and today the mammogram. No one has told me anything. I put a call in today but haven't got a call back and probably won't until Monday. It makes me mad they would do that without having someone to explain it to you.
I am not panicked but I am concerned and I wish this news would have come from my doctor not from an email or letter with no explanation. Thanks ladies.
