Guilty, but think he was so doped up he didn't know what he did.

Would it be possible that someone else shot them when Alex was there, and that person ran away with the guns? Alex is taking the hit to protect that person, like a brother, his other son? Probably not, but I'm late to the game, don't have all the facts lined up yet.
The judge was wonderful, saying that maybe Alex didn't do it, but the person he becomes when taking up to 60 pills a day did it.

@jackiejenny ...Exactly!...What some don't understand is that Alex's long history of criminal financial activities where he lied to and deceived his clients, friends, law partners and family....became such a huge part of what led up to the murders...along with his drug addiction...and Paul's erratic and irresponsible behavior involving the boat crash which led to the death of Mallory Beach...which then led to criminal charges against Paul and lawsuits against the Murdaugh family...all part of the most unbelievable saga that went on for years...As Alex himself stated on the stand...
"Oh what a tangled web we weave"....However, little did he realize that the Jurors wouldn't get caught up in his "tangled web" that he was weaving...rather instead it would lead to his murder convictions and life in prison...and he is still left with approx. 99 financial criminal charges against him.
It's absolutely mind-boggling!

@goldensrbest @jackiejenny ...There is also approximately a 10 minute timeline between the time when Alex left the kennels and the time of the murders.
When Alex got to his mother's house, it was about six minutes before he entered the house...He only stayed about 20 minutes but told his mother's caregiver that, if anyone questions her, she is to tell them that he was there for about 40 minutes.
Six minutes is not much time to go very far ,to hide, destroy the guns.So after he left his mothers house, is also possible that he did it then,if any one helped him ,they need to be charged, the guns not being found bothers me.

So he shot them, but had no blood spatter or gun residue on him or his clothes? If he took a shower afterward, they probably would have found blood in the drains....? Did I miss this part of the case?

I appreciate these threads that help illuminate some of the thorny aspects of the case.
My question this time is trivial by comparison, but would really like to know. I've listened to multiple news reports on the story, for over a year now, but still, there are variable pronunciations of his name. Still! Were I a reporter, I'd want to get that nailed down immediately-- it's so basic.
Some journalists say "Alex Murdaw".
Some say "Alec (another nickname for Alexander) Murdock"
And variations in between. But, this late in the case, for there to be confusion about a name, both the Christian name and surname, is sloppy journalism, in my opinion.

There was a report last night that one gun had been found. Someone said he will probably say where the other one is hidden...but doubtful since he is still claiming his innocent and there will be an appeal.

I know a name in my families surname has been spelled in various ways.
