Re: QVC should change their name along with everything else

The reason there are so few posts is that they have this site so locked down you can not comfortably post without looking over your shoulder in fear of upsetting someone. It was one thing to ask your posters to play nice...but this went overboard. JMO

@Foxxee

Remember when a QVC customer with QVC's blessing started the new "we love QVC Facebook Page and there was even a mention of it to encourage people to check it out.... Some sounded the alarm that the Forums would close but we were reassured that wasnt the case this was just another way customers could connect with one another....But lo and behold...look what ultimately happened 😥

@Foxxee QVC is nothing like the old concept they had.  And the changes will be very very obvious in the coming months I suspect.  Especially during the holidays.

@Sooner

Without the forum, we will learn little about what's going on at QVC and with other customers other than our own experiences if we continue to watch and/or shop.

We can no longer damage its image with complaints, expose the failings, and there would be many over the Christmas season.  Of course, had they fixed the problems within their power (supply chain issues excluded), there would have been far fewer complaints.

Business decisions are often cold and calculating, so I don't think using emotional reasons why the forum shouldn't be removed would work.

Initially, maybe they thought we would support the company and help sell their products, but quality and innovation declined so much there wasn't much good that was discussed.  Whose fault is that?  Instead of listening to us and improving, QVC became...instead of saying worse, I'll be kind and say...hit or miss.

Some of why the forum will close could be about saving money...inflationary warnings for the future have not been good.  If we see other signs of tightening their belt, we might see them as a possible confirmation.

However, there's something more, something else, something very uneasy about this new direction they are taking.  We have been seeing a symptom of it increasingly here on the forum more so this past year that has nothing to do with complaints, saving money, or forum members.

@croemer   Yes, I agree.  I think many left because they got tired of their posts being deleted.

@croemer I totally agree. I haven't seen you here in ages! I hope you're doing well.

Didn't we have fun on these boards back in the day! I still check in here from time to time but post rarely. Will you try the new forum at Proboards? I haven't checked it out yet.

Re: QVC should change their name along with everything else

@kaydee50 Again with all due respect, just like you, the new CEO does not realize the importance of these boards.  He's new.  And you are not every customer.  You are not the customer who has been here the many many years that most of these posters and readers of these forums have been..  We have generated alot of sales thank you.  And yes we have refered people to non-QVC products when there is a better buy out there.  There has been many a "tragic" purchase averted, but there has also been many more a happy purchase made assisting a fellow shopper find exactly what they wanted saving their CS an unhappy customer and many returns.

     You do not understand the "profitability" of having the customers happy, and able to assist other customers.  There are plenty of women on these boards that worked in management/retail/sales and they do realize it.  They helped in the background.  You do not know exactly how many people come here.  You imply there are only a few which is your opinion, not a fact.  You have no clue the exact number period.   Assuming there are only a few will be their mistake.  And you are only speculating that they are not profitable.  Again until they are gone, even QVC will not realize how many sales they helped generate, but they will when they are closed down.  They really do make an impact.  I respectully disagree with you, and I hope you have a good day.  Smiley Happy

@eadu4   And I respectfully disagree that you are making a LOT of assumptions about me that are not true!  Stay safe!

Re: QVC should change their name along with everything else

@Snicks1   I think they can confidently state that they are in millions of homes.  As long as their channel is available on the channel line-up, then they can say that.  It doesn't mean anyone at each home is watching.

For example, I don't watch ESPN and it's part of my cable line-up, but I'm part of the "available" audience.

Re: QVC should change their name along with everything else

@eadu4   I think that QVC monitored the boards from a marketing and customer feedback approach and was able to glean a lot of good honest information from their customers, and possible or former customers.

If they didn't, then they are foolish because instead of having to have focus groups to get feedback, they were getting honest unsolicited feedback about everything from TSV, to home decor, to QVC customer service, product errors, and site issues.

Do I think they had employees that were on the boards as posters, who maybe put "feelers" out there for information or provided feedback to senior management, yep, I sure do.

They are probably looking for more information on their new FB site.  But, I won't be participating on it, and I'm a regular shopper, so any customer or marketing info that I may have provided will be gone.  I can only imagine the amount of emails, pop-ups, etc., that will now go to those who are in the FB site.
