QVC has changed management, changed the focus of the company as stated by them, changed policies, changed corporate culture and doing away with the customer via the customer community here.

So why not change the name to reflect the new day?

I used to be assurred that anything I bought from QVC would be quality--like the Denim and Co pants I've bought for 30 years.  Now?  Crummy, terrible material and ill fitting.

Phone operators were wonderful and fixed issues quickly and efficiently.  Now?  I have to e-mail to get someone.

Now?  I can't cancel anything no matter how delayed shipping will be.  Now I can't be assurred I'll even get things I ordered.

So from a friendly, customer oriented we have wound up with just another big internet face of a company whose policies and practices are suspect.  I was thinking that going forward it's just another internet site.  QVC as I new and enjoyed it doesn't exist any more.

 It's a shame but things change.   I would bet people like Mary Beth and David will be out the door soon.  They don't fit the new corporate model in any way.

@Sooner

LOL ... too bad you didn't suggest a new name for them.

BTW ... why did you single out Mary Beth and David of all the hosts?

     These boards were as much a part of the shopping experience to alot of people as the TSV, Lunchtime Specials or any other gimmick they tried.

@eadu4

Very well said!!!

And with the new strict rules for QVC's Facebook Page it seems like QVC is sticking their head in the sand and doesnt want to hear the truth about what the customers think about their products, hosts, and vendors----its a "lollipops and unicorn world"on the Facebook pages..........Then the Execs will scratch their heads when sales and revenues decline, because they have no honest feedback and constructive criticism to go by to see what they can try to improve their financial picture...

@Sooner   you were much luckier than I ever was.  I know in the years between 1995 and 2005, I returned more than I have recently in that same amount of time.

Re: QVC should change their name along with everything else

IMO, the days of TV shopping are coming to an end.  They cannot adapt to the new environments.

Also, IMO, the number of people who post on these forums are a small percentage of those who actually buy from QVC so I don't really see the fact they're closing it down will have much of an impact on sales.

Well said! They're going to loose a lot of sales when the forums shut down.😠

Re: QVC should change their name along with everything else

How about Quitting Valued Customers. That's what they are doing. Taken another way, we formerly valued customers may well be quitting our once-favorite place to shop and share our experiences. They've slapped our faces after a very long time. Customer loyalty has to be earned and nurtured. I hope we can agree on one forum so that we can be able to keep going. However, just speaking for myself, I am becoming increasingly disgusted. I'm tired of begging QVC to do right and take my money. That's just ridiculous.

Re: QVC should change their name along with everything else

@kaydee50  with all due respect, there are plenty of people that come here and read the posts but don't necessarily comment.   You would be surprised at the number of followers of these forums.  I don't go to each forum topic, on top of which there are sub-topics.  Yes when they shut these down it will make a difference.  The more people linger on a site the more likely they are to make a purchase.  And plenty of people linger on these boards.  When they disappear there will be less time spent on the website.  There have been plenty of times I've come just to read the remarks on an item rather than the "reviews" which have become increasingly useless.  I don't necessarily post a comment, but I'm here.  Don't ever count out the quiet masses who are here but never say anything or only post occasionally or are on a topic you don't go to.  Smiley Happy These forums have been an amazing back source for them.  They can learn much more about their customers from these boards then they can from FB.

@eadu4   Well, it just seems to me that if these boards were generating sales for QVC, they would not be getting rid of them.  There are millions of QVC viewers and I would guess that a very small percentage come to these boards or are even aware of them.  If the forums were profitable, I doubt they would be discontinued.

Plus at least in my case, I have found out about products that were not on QVC and led me to buy elsewhere.  Not what QVC wants.
